In Ontario, Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists are classified as Regulated health care providers, along with 27 other health professions, under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA). Additionally, they fall under the Traditional Chinese Medicine Act, 2006 (TCM Act), which outlines the specific regulations for this field. The scope of practice for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) involves assessing disorders within the body’s systems using TCM techniques and administering TCM therapies to promote, maintain, or restore health. The regulatory body overseeing this field is the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO).
However, due to the limited scope of practice that confines medical diagnoses, maintaining a medical relationship with a Medical Doctor is essential. If you wish us to communicate or collaborate with your MD, you will need to provide a signed waiver or consent allowing the exchange of medical documents between our clinic and your MD. This entire procedure adheres strictly to the protocols outlined in the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).

Ensuring the health and safety of our patients, staff, and their families is our utmost concern. We rigorously adhere to the infection control guidelines set forth by Health Canada and the directives established by Public Health Ontario. Considering the global experience with the COVID-19 pandemic, our practices have become more careful.
Medical masks serve a dual role, acting as both a means of source control and an integral component of personal protective equipment (PPE). This preventive measure plays a crucial role among a collection of strategies employed to collectively curtail the transmission of infections. Notably, our staff consistently don masks during patient interactions within our clinic.
For individuals deemed to be at a higher risk, it is strongly advised to consult your primary care physician prior to scheduling appointments. Furthermore, we encourage you to communicate with us before arranging any appointments. This proactive approach includes completing a designated Triage Questionnaire as follows, which aids in optimizing your experience and care.
